After unveiling the new Lumia 920, Nokia put out an ad that supposedly showed off its PureView camera technology — but the images shown weren’t taken with the phone.
WHERE do the world’s poor live? The obvious answer: in poor countries. But in a recent series of articles Andy Sumner of Britain’s Institute of Development Studies showed that the obvious answer is wrong*. Four-fifths of those surviving on less than $2 a day, he found, live in middle-income countries with a gross national income per head of between $1,000 and $12,500, not poor ones.
The eruption apparently stretched out a “half million miles into space,” The Register adds. Fortunately, the sun is about 93 million miles from us. And, says NASA, the eruption “did not travel directly toward Earth,” though it did give a “glancing blow” to the planet’s “magnetic environment” on Monday.
